Since that last update, my home page isn't showing up every time I start up Microsoft Edge.

This is a bug affecting a few users. The Edge team reported on 29 November::

This is a known issue and is fixed in 97.0.1057.0 but not quite moved up to Stable yet. Our Insiders who've had the same thing happening have reported it resolved, so you're welcome to give anInsider builda try if you'd like (Canary and Dev have the fix.) Or, I'll check back in with you after that build is in Stable and make sure the fix is working for you!

Microsoft Edge Version 96.0.1054.34 (Offizielles Build) (64-Bit) - Microsoft Tech Community

Alexandra doesn't make clear whether this fix is incorporated into one of the builds 1055-1057 or into the major update to Edge 97, but if it's the latter, the the expected Stable release date for Edge 97 is next month:

So, the fix will be fixed after the date January 06, 2022?

No guarantees, sorry - there may still be a specific reason why your particular Edge installation is having this problem. That's why it's really helpful to submit feedback, to help the engineers also cater for 'edge cases' - no pun intended.

I've sent feedback, hopefully, it'll be picked up.

Hi Damouk. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, specializing in Installation, Performance, Troubleshooting and Activation, here to help you.

Go into Edge Settings > Start Page, click the three dots at the right opposite your set Home Page, choose remove, Restart Windows, go back to add the page again in the same place. Does it work now? If not you need to repair Edge. Do all repairs in this order:

I'll give you everything possible to fix Edge so something should work:

    1. If possible back up your Favorites first in Edge Hub (three dots top right of browser) > Favorites > Manage Favorites > Export to file: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/143983-how-...

If you can't open Edge but another browser will open, then go into it's Settings to try to "Import from another Browser" your Edge Favorites so they are at least backed up.

    1. You can reset new Edge in Edge Settings > Reset Settings.
    2. If you can't open Edge or if the Edge Reset doesn't work then go into Windows Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Microsoft Edge > Modify > Repair.
    3. Try re-registering Edge from Option 2 here: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3175-apps-re...
    4. Try reinstalling Edge as shown here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-e...

    1. If none of those repairs help try the additional repairs here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-e...

    https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/common-...

    https://www.windowscentral.com/five-ways-fix-co...

    https://techgenix.com/problems-with-edge-browser/

    1. Next run System File Checker and DISM from Step 10 in this checklist:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

    1. If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while keeping files, programs and most settings in place, is the most stable method to advance to the latest version, and solves most problems. Tutorial here: https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/fix-windows...

If you want to report this to Edge Developers you can choose the Edge Hub (three dots to right of URL address bar) then Help & Feedback, then Feedback form to fill out. They will not even see it here, as this is a tech forums where mostly volunteers try to help others with their problems.
