How do I remove Microsoft Edge From Windows 10?

I've poked around and all threads on this question seem to have been locked. I'm not sure why we're forced to have edge installed if we don't want it. Can someone please provide exact instructions on how to remove Edge?

Hey there, everyone

Microsoft Edge cannot be uninstalled from Windows. This is because the browser is built into Windows - but gets updates separately from the Windows Update client. 

No matter which command you decide to run in PowerShell, this will not work. You can, of course, use an alternative browser. To do this, please download and install a browser of your choice though the Microsoft Store, or though the web browser. 

Once you launch the other web browser, such as Chrome, it will ask you if you want to make that browser a default browser. Once you select this, everything should open in Chrome, and not Edge. 

For those who are saying that Microsoft is forcing you to use Edge. You can use a different browser instead of Edge. Just like, if you were using an iPhone, you can install another browser instead of the built-in browser called Safari. Android systems have a built-in browser too, which cannot be uninstalled, but you are able to use a different browser too. 

Is this something new? No, browsers have always been built into the OS. Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10 have Internet Explorer which is built into the OS. Windows 8, 8.1, 10 also have Edge built in too.

    Hi I used Iobit Uninstaller and it cleared all of Edge and returned my browser to Explorer. Also removed all residual files as well. Added bonus I only used the free version.   Boom Shanka

    I simply can't see how Microsoft's decision to install Edge (and Bing) without my request is ethically responsible.   I've tried everything and, several folks are right.  I can still keep Firefox as my web browser (and ignore the repeated invitation to switch to edge), but even though I thought I had removed Bing, after the last update, there it was again.

    It is one more example of the arrogance and "we're going to place our products and screw you" attitude of the leadership at Microsoft.  And it's a good argument for instituting meaningful anti-trust action against the semi-monopolies that use their power to crush their rivals and maximize their profits without any regard for their customers.

    When will we be able to uninstall this new Microsoft edge? I have been having issues with it ever since Microsoft has released it and finally choose to move over to chrome. I start school on Monday and I do not have as much storage as I would like on this computer, and I would absolutely love if you would be able to uninstall is. Once again, I would like to get rid of Microsoft Edge. Will there EVER be and update to let you uninstall it?

    It doesn't help because I want Edge gone. It takes up a lot of space, I need that space for other programs.

    Please do tell, how much space is it taking up? I honestly don't know and never bothered to check as I have always made sure I have plenty large hard drives for my systems to handle an O/S and accessory programs. Be sure to only count the application, not the cache or other files that are their from using the app.
