How do I remove Microsoft Edge From Windows 10?

I've poked around and all threads on this question seem to have been locked. I'm not sure why we're forced to have edge installed if we don't want it. Can someone please provide exact instructions on how to remove Edge?

Hey there, everyone

Microsoft Edge cannot be uninstalled from Windows. This is because the browser is built into Windows - but gets updates separately from the Windows Update client. 

No matter which command you decide to run in PowerShell, this will not work. You can, of course, use an alternative browser. To do this, please download and install a browser of your choice though the Microsoft Store, or though the web browser. 

Once you launch the other web browser, such as Chrome, it will ask you if you want to make that browser a default browser. Once you select this, everything should open in Chrome, and not Edge. 

For those who are saying that Microsoft is forcing you to use Edge. You can use a different browser instead of Edge. Just like, if you were using an iPhone, you can install another browser instead of the built-in browser called Safari. Android systems have a built-in browser too, which cannot be uninstalled, but you are able to use a different browser too. 

Is this something new? No, browsers have always been built into the OS. Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10 have Internet Explorer which is built into the OS. Windows 8, 8.1, 10 also have Edge built in too.

    I use Firefox, a Browser called Brave and Opera GX. I use Firefox for banking and paying bills, Brave for when sites work better on that one and Opera GX for watching streamers on Twitch. 

    Ever since Firefox first came out way back when, I've been using that and have not looked back when it came to the Swiss Cheese Browser known as IE. Then when Brave came along I got hooked on that as that one; I LOVE. mainly over the built in ad blockers that works more than other ad blockers. 

    Then Opera GX, a browser for gamers; that one I have two Ad blockers installed, one's the sock and one's not stock and both of them working together keeps ads from ruining my browsing experience. and any site that tells me I need to take them off to view things, is a site I avoid.

    So I have no need for Internet Explorer better known as Swiss Cheese or Edge. as no matter how many times Microsoft can proclaim that their browser is secure, past experience tells me that they're just lying through their teeth. 

    I really see no reason for Internet Explorer or Edge to be on here. What are they going to do, integrate it in such a way that if you do uninstall it, it makes the system unstable and instant blue screen? That will just push people to say "Hasta Luego" to Windows and "Bonjour" to Linux/Unix Operating systems or even Mac Operating systems.

    I will never be comfortable having Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer on my system.  

    I'm just a bit curious: if you did manage to remove both of those, how would you go about acquiring the browser you did want to use? Or, assuming you already have it, how would you re-install it when it breaks?

    You don't seem to listen or understand or comprehend.

    We don't want Edge on our systems at all. But you don't listen.

    We do not care if it is a core component of Windows. We have no use for Edge or Internet Explorer in ANY WAY shape or fashion. Any browser Microsoft creates will have more holes security wise than Swiss Cheese.

    I will never be comfortable having Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer on my system. 

    Now...Either you cough up a viable way to remove this OR I'll look online and gut the program myself and then post on here so others can know how to remove unwanted programs that you intentionally disabled the uninstall function.

    Did you even bother to ask users if they wanted Microsoft Edge? Did you even bother to give users a way to remove the unwanted bloatware if they wanted it gone? I can answer that for you. You didn't even bother.

    Now...I do not care for any Microsoft conditioned response to my post as you're just saying it because you're forced to by Microsoft. This is just one more step to push me away from Windows and use Linux/Ubuntu software instead. At least there I can control what software I want installed or not.

    Hey there,

    use this computer primarely for wok. Am Ford employee and use with IDS program. Ford uses IE11 for the browser . Edge is not yet supported and I can't get into most of my diag and am unable to connect to program SYNC.   Help
