My wife's computer had the same problem.  I fixed it by clicking on the 3 dots on the "pop-up" and options came up to turn off all notifications in Microsoft Edge, when I did that the "pop-up's" stopped.

1st thing is to completely remove McAfee if it is in the system/machine. See below*.

Are you using Windows Defender or do you, actually have McAfee installed? You should be using Windows Defender so, either way follow the following recommendations:

  1. In the OS Settings search box type Pop-ups and hit Block or allow pop-ups

That will give you the following window. Check, Turn on pop-up blocker & hit OK

  1. In Edge Settings under Cookies & site permissions make sure the 2 things indicated are set to Blocked

    *3. Employ the McAfee Removal Tool - Download McAfee Removal Tool (MCPR) - MajorGeeks

And/OR

  1. Employ The Revo Uninstaller Tool (Use the one on the left, Revo Uninstaller Freeware) - Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download
  2. (Now) Window Defender Security runs by default if & when no 3rd Party security programme or software is in the OS, at all.

    this a screen shot of what i am getting. it also comes up with mcafee offer and says my subscription has run out. i do not have a subscription-i get mcadfee from my internet provider. i do not have any noartaon prodyuct.

    DO NOT run the scan this thing is wanting done❗

    1. Run a Full Scan with Windows Security
    2. Run as Admin & do scf /scannow in Windows Terminal
    3. Do a full scan with MalwarebytesFree Download malwarebytes.com
    4. Use the specific McAfee Removal Tool
    5. Run/use RevoUninstaller (Free)
    6. Again as Admin in Windows Terminal run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestorehealthIf none of the above helps, do a reset of the PC "back to factory". Keep your personal data. Some apps & User installed software may (will) need to be re-installed.Cheers,
