My wife's computer had the same problem.  I fixed it by clicking on the 3 dots on the "pop-up" and options came up to turn off all notifications in Microsoft Edge, when I did that the "pop-up's" stopped.

1st thing is to completely remove McAfee if it is in the system/machine. See below*.

Are you using Windows Defender or do you, actually have McAfee installed? You should be using Windows Defender so, either way follow the following recommendations:

  1. In the OS Settings search box type Pop-ups and hit Block or allow pop-ups

That will give you the following window. Check, Turn on pop-up blocker & hit OK

  1. In Edge Settings under Cookies & site permissions make sure the 2 things indicated are set to Blocked

    *3. Employ the McAfee Removal Tool - Download McAfee Removal Tool (MCPR) - MajorGeeks

And/OR

  1. Employ The Revo Uninstaller Tool (Use the one on the left, Revo Uninstaller Freeware) - Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download
  2. (Now) Window Defender Security runs by default if & when no 3rd Party security programme or software is in the OS, at all.

    To disable the notifications:

    Hi,

    I have changed all the relevant settings to stop Pop Ups but still hourly receive McAfee pop ups like this.

    How I can stop this stuff.

    I have uninstalled the McAfee software and have installed other Virus software but I continually get these pop ups. I know that I can stop them on my Mac.

    Couple of thoughts:

    1. First, use Windows Defender Security, not any additionally & unnecessarily installed 3rd Party app.
    2. IF any 3rd Party WAS EVER used, it may possibly not be fully removed. Use the specific Removal Tool for the product OR use Revo Uninstaller to be rid of any & all remnants.
    3. In Edge Settings make sure its Ad Blocker & its Popup Blockers are both ON.
