My wife's computer had the same problem.  I fixed it by clicking on the 3 dots on the "pop-up" and options came up to turn off all notifications in Microsoft Edge, when I did that the "pop-up's" stopped.

1st thing is to completely remove McAfee if it is in the system/machine. See below*.

Are you using Windows Defender or do you, actually have McAfee installed? You should be using Windows Defender so, either way follow the following recommendations:

  1. In the OS Settings search box type Pop-ups and hit Block or allow pop-ups

That will give you the following window. Check, Turn on pop-up blocker & hit OK

  1. In Edge Settings under Cookies & site permissions make sure the 2 things indicated are set to Blocked

    *3. Employ the McAfee Removal Tool - Download McAfee Removal Tool (MCPR) - MajorGeeks

And/OR

  1. Employ The Revo Uninstaller Tool (Use the one on the left, Revo Uninstaller Freeware) - Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download
  2. (Now) Window Defender Security runs by default if & when no 3rd Party security programme or software is in the OS, at all.

    Richard, the above screenshot is Microsoft Edge notification and it comes from paymentsweb website as indicated above the "yes/no" buttons.

    Go to Edge settings, Cookies and site permissions, Notifications and delete the website (paymentsweb) from "Allow" section or even put it in "Block".

    I also highly recommend deleting the screen shot from your own post in this thread as you are listing too much personal information in it (such as 2 emails, etc.). Or at least obscure that information.

    wow, thank you boris! this was probably the most simple solution, and it has worked for me.
    in fact i took it a step farther and cleared out site permissions entirely.
    the offending site, had somehow gain permissions, i have no idea how, i had never even visited it before.
    but now, the notifications are gone. and i have updated my settings to remove permissions whenever i close my browser.
    thank you so much boris, this was easier than installing another app and i didnt have to turn off notifications either.
    for me this was the best resolution, it was easy and i would recommend people start here if they are experiencing this issue.
