videos in windows edge keep stopping and restarting

I want to assure you that our engineering team is working hard to investigate and resolve this issue. I think the frustration is often not related to genuine time required to resolve... it's already present because of the foolishness that goes on for months prior to genuine acknowledgement.

The months where Service Agents deny a problem, and fail in ANY manner to recognise the expertise of those raising issues that is often glaringly obvious in the detailed notes and troubleshooting already done to determine that it requires MS itself to act.

Being told to reboot your machine or other steps that show total ignorance of the problem, that no effort to read what has been done etc ... this is why people get frustrated.

To add to the current state of affairs: On Windows 10, and Windows 11 using Edge latest version on machines of completely different CPU, GPU, chipset, RAM manufacture, I find that ALL videos played will reset and restart at 1.05 min mark. EVERY TIME.

I am located in Australia. I have zero issues of local latency and bandwidth is over 15MB/sec

People reporting different time stamps for this event makes me query if it is an issue with buffering and the way MSN is flagging buffered content in edge.

The knowledge that other sites do not demonstrate this issue suggests it is specific to the MSN page and Edge. Have MS tried to do something "Special" with edge and its own pages to get a leg up over others? That seems like the sort of thing you would do as a Company... and maybe it's not working :P

Interesting thing is now happening. The video will start, then stops, but does not restart. When I click on the video to restart it, it will then return to beginning and start over. It does not start from the spot it stopped at.

Millions are experiencing the issue of videos restarting which means they know all about it. I think they get a new click which turns into inflated number which means more money from advertisers.

I have the exact same issue. This is exactly why people use Chrome Firfox etc. Because microsoft won't fix their trash browser and try to blame it on other things this has been a problem for years and years now. FIX YOUR TRASH Microsoft. And the bad part is Microsoft tries to force Edge on everyone. I wish some day in the future that someone out there would make a Windows replacement that works with everything. Microsoft is contoling and big tech is controlling our lives. this is getting way out of control. But it wont' ever stop at this point it's too late. and allthe help people that reply here seem sub par at best all they sugjest we do is reinstall Windows. This tell mes that they seem to not have a clue about what they are supposed to be educated in.
