Starting this morning, Edge does not remember logins to any website

Starting this morning, every time I close Edge and reopen it, it doesn't remember any of my login so I have to login every time to every website.

I confirmed my setting is set to NOT clear cookies when I close my browser and it has always been this way.  I have never had this issue until this morning.

A features update was installed this morning and that's when this problem started.  Is there a bug with this update?  I'm running Windows 10 and Edge Version 86.0.622.38.  As you can imagine, it is quite annoying having to login to every time to every website.  

Update-There must be a bug because other people on Reddit are starting to report the same issue.

Hi folks, 

The original topic of this thread (Microsoft Edge not remembering logins) has been resolved. Make sure you've updated to the latest version of Edge to get the fix! I'm locking this thread as it is becoming difficult to moderate and troubleshoot individual issues, and this thread has turned in to a catch-all for all password issues. 

If you are still seeing issues with Edge not remembering passwords and all other programs are remembering your logins as expected, please start a new thread so we can help you individually. 

If you are seeing system-wide issues with passwords being saved:

• Check your Windows version to confirm if you are on Build 19041.173 or later

• If yes, reference this troubleshooting document Outlook and other apps won't remember password after Windows Updates - Outlook (microsoft.com) Note that this is a workaround until this Windows issue is patched.

    Hi Roger, I am Paulo. I'm an Independent Advisor and an individual like you inclined to help.

    Since you've set up 'Clear on exit' and you've only allowed some sites to save their data, you should disable the Site permission option within the page. This is to allow your list to retain their data and won't clear your allowed list. (See image below)

    In the settings for privacy, search and services, I created a list of addresses that were allowed to set cookies in "Do not clear" under Cookies and Site Data for cookies that should not be deleted when the browser is closed.

    Twice now, this list has been emptied by Edge.

    I don't know if this follows an update or other change, but it is occasional not every time I close.

    It kept the list in Site permissions/ Cookies and site data > Allow, but these do not stop it deleting the cookies when I close the browser.

    How can I stop it deleting them or save the list and import them to avoid having to retype them?

    There are large numbers of internal LAN addresses that I do not wish to keep retyping.

    Can you confirm that logins to sites and apps other than those listed under the setting you changed also went missing before you changed it? The OP stated that the fault meant that he had to login every time to every website. If this is the case, then there is another bug to be tracked down and squashed.

    everything is working fine now after disabled the setting that Rich Alan mentioned previously.

    Rich Alan:  Changing "Hosted App Data" from "clearing each time" to "not clearing each time" works for me.

      

    MELERIX: confirmed this fix works!

    Glad to see this problem is solved for you, but I don't quite understand what the bug is if all it takes to correct the fault is a change to a browser setting.
