Starting this morning, Edge does not remember logins to any website

Starting this morning, every time I close Edge and reopen it, it doesn't remember any of my login so I have to login every time to every website.

I confirmed my setting is set to NOT clear cookies when I close my browser and it has always been this way.  I have never had this issue until this morning.

A features update was installed this morning and that's when this problem started.  Is there a bug with this update?  I'm running Windows 10 and Edge Version 86.0.622.38.  As you can imagine, it is quite annoying having to login to every time to every website.

Update-There must be a bug because other people on Reddit are starting to report the same issue.

Hi folks,

The original topic of this thread (Microsoft Edge not remembering logins) has been resolved. Make sure you've updated to the latest version of Edge to get the fix! I'm locking this thread as it is becoming difficult to moderate and troubleshoot individual issues, and this thread has turned in to a catch-all for all password issues.

If you are still seeing issues with Edge not remembering passwords and all other programs are remembering your logins as expected, please start a new thread so we can help you individually.

If you are seeing system-wide issues with passwords being saved:

• Check your Windows version to confirm if you are on Build 19041.173 or later

• If yes, reference this troubleshooting document Outlook and other apps won't remember password after Windows Updates - Outlook (microsoft.com) Note that this is a workaround until this Windows issue is patched.

    If you have read the thread you're posting in, you will have seen that there are three known causes of the behaviour you describe:

    1. Clearing Hosted app dataon close. This was a bug, supposedly fixed some weeks ago but possibly back with later builds;
    2. Running scheduled tasks with S4U authentication. This results from a change in the DP API with the introduction of Windows 10 v. 2004. A fix is on its way via Windows Update.
    3. The obvious one: third-party security software. We've seen that uninstalling (some flavour of) Norton works, and another user who uninstalled an IOBit security suite also reported success. I've yet to see a McAfee user who's willing to uninstall it to see whether the problem goes away. These apps will apparently prevent changes to sensitive data (e.g. website log-in data) from being saved if they don't know how to handle them.

    My suggestion, then:

    1. Uninstall third-party security software (ensuring that WD is re-enabled before proceeding);
    2. Deselect Hosted app dataon the Choose what to clear on close page.
    3. Check edge://histograms/oscryptfor error reports after experiencing a  loss of credentials (open the page, then visit a site where you expect the credentials to be missing despite having asked for them to be saved, then click Refresh on the Histograms page).

    Now it saves passwords but doesn't save my cookie preferences, settings/cookies.../allow enter www.bt.com, next time I start Edge it's forgotten it. Partial fix but not a total fix. BTW if I go 2 answers.microsoft.com it says the site is insecure and won't allow me to proceed. Yet another Microsoft bug?

    OK so I updated today to version .47. Hasn't fixed my cookie problem, hasn't saved my allow cookies from a specific site, doesn't remember password save despite telling me it will. Microsoft still have a serious issue here. That's the 4th update to Edge in the last 2 weeks. Don't Microsoft monitor feedback on this forum? There's loads of people moaning about these issues which started about the beginning of October.
