Starting this morning, Edge does not remember logins to any website

Starting this morning, every time I close Edge and reopen it, it doesn't remember any of my login so I have to login every time to every website.

I confirmed my setting is set to NOT clear cookies when I close my browser and it has always been this way.  I have never had this issue until this morning.

A features update was installed this morning and that's when this problem started.  Is there a bug with this update?  I'm running Windows 10 and Edge Version 86.0.622.38.  As you can imagine, it is quite annoying having to login to every time to every website.

Update-There must be a bug because other people on Reddit are starting to report the same issue.

Hi folks,

The original topic of this thread (Microsoft Edge not remembering logins) has been resolved. Make sure you've updated to the latest version of Edge to get the fix! I'm locking this thread as it is becoming difficult to moderate and troubleshoot individual issues, and this thread has turned in to a catch-all for all password issues.

If you are still seeing issues with Edge not remembering passwords and all other programs are remembering your logins as expected, please start a new thread so we can help you individually.

If you are seeing system-wide issues with passwords being saved:

• Check your Windows version to confirm if you are on Build 19041.173 or later

• If yes, reference this troubleshooting document Outlook and other apps won't remember password after Windows Updates - Outlook (microsoft.com) Note that this is a workaround until this Windows issue is patched.

    Hi Missy,

I was one of the 1st to start this issue 2 weeks ago. anyway...

Just that Hosted app thing does nothing. It was never checked.

Do you realize that its NOT all sites either. Some remember and keep you logged in and many do not. All your passwords and user names are remembered ... just some sites do not fill it in and some log you out.

I tried that Task thing and it found nothing.

yeah well... McAfee may cause issues - BUT its NOT this one.

I have almost identical HP laptops. about a year ago I took off McAfee on one just for the hell of it. Actually just got tired of all the "Your subscription is about to end" BS.

Since then BOTH laptops work exactly like they should and BOTH NOW since that NEW EDGE Updates 6 months ago with 2004 - BOTH have those 2 apps.

    SO ITS NOT MCAFEE

    Right under Edge in apps

OK, sorry. I think that's always been there ...

I can't help noticing that you have some McAfee software installed. The primary suspect when strange things start happening with sensitive user data (like log-in credentials) is third-party security software. A number of users facing this problem have reported that disabling or uninstalling their third-party security offering (of various types) solved it for them. I rather thought I'd already suggested this, but this thread has become so unwieldy that I can't locate the post now.

Anyway, since neither of the identified solutions is working for you, perhaps it's time to get back to basics and check whether it's McAfee that's interfering with your legitimate pursuits.
