Starting today (1/4/2022), whenever I click on a news article in the New Tab page, the Microsoft Start page is displayed instead. How do I stop that from happening?

I also have started having the exact same (looping to microsoft start) problem, starting today.
I am geek enough to keep myself out of trouble and to repair/fix 99% of all issues that arise on my equipment.
Sorry to say this fix did not work.
Thanks Avg.Joe
It's the Y22K bug they working on it I guess.
I guess Microsoft is wanting us to use Google News in the future! Mighty nice of them!
Good Day MesPia,
My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 10 pc and community member like you. Let us work together to sort this out.
Here's the steps you can try.
Reset the Edge
-Open Edge and click the 3 dots at the upper right side of your screen.
-Go to Settings
-Look for Reset Settings
-Click Restore settings to their default values.(This will reset your startup page, new tab page, search engine, and pinned tabs. It will also disable all extensions and clear temporary data like cookies. Your favorites, history and saved passwords will not be cleared.)
Restart and check.
If issue persists, you can re-install the Edge using this link below.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/business/d...
Download and install the version (96.0.1054.62)
Restart once done and check the Edge.
I hope the information above helps. Please let me know how it goes.
Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.Sincerely,
Carlo T.
