How to prevent Microsoft Start page from coming up when I click on a news article in the New Tab page?

Starting today (1/4/2022), whenever I click on a news article in the New Tab page, the Microsoft Start page is displayed instead. How do I stop that from happening?

    Not helpful Carlo. I wonder if there is anyway to convince MicroSoft to hire some staff who understand system testing?

    Agreed that they better get on this fast of lose customers. I tried reaching MS support and actually found an 800 number. But when you call it the message states, they no longer do live support. "go to our online service page" Well... that is no help at all.
