How do I highlight PDFs in the new Microsoft Edge

I tried searching this option up and nothing like it existed...

Not only does the new app ... not allow highlighting in PDF, ...

The post you replied to was made almost five months ago, and a lot has changed since then. Highlighting text in PDFs was introduced some weeks ago, as you'll see if you read through other replies in this thread.

Improvements in inking capabilities are on the way, again mentioned in earlier replies here. To see what's coming and when, read the Top Feedback Summary at the beginning of this forum listing. If you have suggestions for the Edge team, please use the feedback option within the browser (Alt-Shift-i). That's where the team learn what users are unhappy about or asking for. The more users that submit feedback about a particular feature, the higher up the priority list that feature rises. You'll see that a number of improvements to PDF handling are in the works.

Please be our mouthpiece and convey to Microsoft the silliness of their devt. Not only does the new app (i refuse to call it the "new edge" because it hardly has any) not allow highlighting in PDF, we also can't change the ink colour and thickness, like we used to be able to do in the previous version.

I was hoping the new app would allow us to copy / cut or move our handwritten notes or even have the ability to recognise our handwriting and convert it to typed text, like some of the Apple Apps are capable of doing. The new app is hardly an update - it's a downgrade and a disappointment.

If I eventually have to resort to using an ipad and Apple Apps, Microsoft will be losing this customer possibly forever.

In order to highlight in the new version of Microsoft Edge (PC)

1. select the text you want to highlight and right click,
2. select highlight
3. pick a color

If anyone can figure out how to delete a highlight once it's been set, I'd like to know.
