Opening and reading PDF files in Microsoft Edge on Windows 10
few months??? WE HAVE CLASSES NOW! How the heck do yall break something that didn't even need fixing in the first place.
How do I highlight PDFs in the new Microsoft Edge

I just downloaded the new edition of edge and now when I open PDFs I do not see the option to highlight. Does anyone know?

2020-06-30T18:29:21+00:00 I just updated to the latest version of Edge, which I use to easily markup PDF files when I am studying. This capability was honestly the only reason I was using Edge and didn't download Adobe instead. Now, instead of being able to just drag and highlight in a chosen color, I have to go in each time I select a block of text and right click, then choose the highlighter every single time. Why would you take away something so basic and only required 1 step and make it into 3 steps? Now I'm going to have to go ahead and switch over to Adobe to save myself time and annoyance.

Was this issue solved? I just upgraded to the new Edge, lost the highlight feature for PDFs, followed the instructions in this thread ("turned 'on' via the edge//flag..."), and I *still* can't highlight in my PDF's. The only option is to "draw" in them. I have a Microsoft Surface Tablet, so use the 'pen' stylo to highlight.
Please advise! I want the old Edge back :-(

We would like to inform you that text highlighter feature for PDF files is introduced in Edge Chromium.
In order to enable the feature, please perform these steps.
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Type in address bar Edge://flags and press Enter key.
- Search for Enable Text Highlights for PDF flag. Change it to Enable.
- Restart Edge and open a PDF document in Edge.
- Select the text and right click to select Highlights. Choose the color that you prefer.

s okay to right-click on the text to change between colours, but why shall the user do it everytime....? Also there is no "undo" button (and control-Z doesnt work), even if the menu panel is almost empty.... To me it looks like Microsoft is trying to give the user mouse arm... Also when you shall save your edited pdf-file it asks you if you shall save over the original document - each time you save....This version of Edge wasn`t finished when released or?
