How do I highlight PDFs in the new Microsoft Edge

Just install XODO app. It's free and way better user experiences compare to new Chromium version.

We would like to inform you that text highlighter feature for PDF files is introduced in Edge Chromium.

In order to enable the feature, please perform these steps.

1. Open Microsoft Edge.
2. Type in address bar Edge://flags and press Enter key.
3. Search for Enable Text Highlights for PDF flag. Change it to Enable.
4. Restart Edge and open a PDF document in Edge.
5. Select the text and right click to select Highlights. Choose the color that you prefer.

I am using Surface and I am using this Highlight function a lot. It's quite upset me that this new version just deletes of function and make user experiences even worse... Now I have to find to download another extension to install. I already sent feedback to Microsoft dev team. Hope they will call back of those Highlight function back. I prefer previous version of MS Edge browser ...

We checked this feature, currently not available and we’re working on and that you can expect to see in the next few months. Its okay to right-click on the text to change between colours, but why shall the user do it everytime....? Also there is no "undo" button (and control-Z doesnt work), even if the menu panel is almost empty.... To me it looks like Microsoft is trying to give the user mouse arm... Also when you shall save your edited pdf-file it asks you if you shall save over the original document - each time you save....

This version of Edge wasn`t finished when released or?

Is there a way to erase a highlight?

just right-click the highlighted text, don't need to drag and select the highlighted text, click on highlight and select "none" in colour list.
