How do you stop edge from opening a new tab every time you click a link???

Microsoft made disabling this feature such a chore, and navigating settings didn't help one bit. I figured I'd ask on the forums before ditching edge all together.

Had same issue in Edge browser but below method worked for me. earlier when i click on any link in search or from home page it opens in new tab but now it opens on same tab.

Method

1- Go to Bing.com

2- On bing page near your profile picture click on 3 horizontal lines.

3-Click on Settings > More

4- uncheck both options in results section and save.

x Open links from search results in a new tab or window x Open links from news results in a new tab or window

This is the way to fix it but it is the dumbest way possible. Making us go to a website to change a setting when there’s application settings built in is stupid. I only use Microsoft products for work & this is one of many reasons I don’t use this **** to waste my personal time.

It might be sound crazy, But in my device i found that it is because of ctrl button. Even though it is not pressed it is taken. So ctrl+right click opening new tab...

Pressing ctrl again solved the issue... ✌️

If this Windows computer wasn't needed for work I would throw it in the trash. Just another reason why I'm on IOS.
