It's not just Edge. My wife's laptop has this behavior in Windows 11 for all browsers. We have cleared cache, rebooted both the laptop and the wireless access point. No other systems on the network (Windows, Mac, or Linux) are having the issue. We have Mcafee running and current with regular scans and on infections.

Every browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) when used to access a website require you to refresh for every page change. This is especially troublesome when attempting to make purchases online and refreshing the order page is not advised.

Disable McAfee for a while. Any change?

I have been dealing with this for around 18 months. Its super frustrating.

Extensions are disabled and clearing the cache doesn't fix it. The only fix is rebooting the computer, then it'll work for that day, and when I come in the next day, I have to refresh all the pages I use on a daily basis multiple times to load correctly. That will continue daily until I restart the computer again, and then that day everything loads as expected.

This happens using multiple different browsers and regardless of which Google account I am logged into. It does not happy on other devices using the same Google accounts.

I read on another page that someone thought it could be their Webroot, which I do have, but not sure if that is the culprit. I am networked with several other computers here and none of them have the same issue.

    1. Webroot could be the culprit. Not necessarily the antivirus feature but something like a safe browsing or privacy feature, a URL checker, etc.
    2. Next time this happens, instead of a restart, close all processes of the browser involved from Task Manager. See if killing those processes and getting a fresh start helps.
    3. Next time this happens, instead of a restart clear the DNS Cache

Right-click Start and select Command Prompt (admin) At the flashing cursor

type in ipconfig /flushdns (note the space between config and / ) hit [Enter]

    See if page loading improves.

No one else mentioned Google accounts. How are Google accounts involved?

I just brought up my google accounts for settings/preferences purposes. Not sure if it's relevant or not, but I figured more info is better than not enough! lol.

I do use Webroot here in my office on multiple networked computers, as well as multiple at home. Only my work computer does it.

I will try your suggestions when it happens again. I know it would be tomorrow but after today I'm off until next Tuesday. But I'll for sure try it then. I appreciate your help!

So my Windows 10 machine does this. I accidentally figured out a workaround.

If I open the browser and then open a second tab and use the second tab it works. In fact, for some reason, the first tab will mirror the second tab.

Now as to why this works, no idea.
