Thank You!! I have a security camera add-in that requires IE mode. I assume it will require it forever. I was shocked to see the hard-coded 30-day expiration date. Who asked for that? Thank you Les Ferch for this correction to yet another dumb Microsoft bug.
You're welcome. The 30 day limit is an annoying design, but it's not a bug. It's working exactly as Microsoft intended. They are trying to protect the end-user from sites that could take advantage of IE security holes, at the expense of users with products that still depend on IE. I wouldn't be surprised if it has to do with Microsoft protecting themselves from litigation. It is what it is and we find workarounds. ;)
Hello, I have a problem with running a script. When I open EDGE after execution, this message will appear "We were unable to read your preferences or save changes to your preferences. You may not be able to use all features" I should how to exclude. i AM IN TAIWAN WORK 。 thanks everyone
I would need to see a copy of your Edge preferences file (before running the script) to determine why that's happening. The script makes a backup copy of your preferences file in the same folder.
You can use the GitHub page to open an issue, if you would like to work with me to troubleshoot.
Open the EDGE folder and find that there are two folders with script backup files inside. Was it caused by the wrong question? Thanks for all the professional help.
Because the government unit has a system that needs to use the old version of IE to browse the webpage, if you use EDGE, you need to add a new URL every 30 days.
