How to Extend IE mode more than 30 days

I experienced a situation where I had the sites in my IE Tab list, ran your script to extend the dates (successfully), removed them from the list, and then tried to add them via your script and they were not put in. That was earlier today. The version I used was downloaded at 11:00AM EST today.

I just downloaded a new copy (2:00PM EST today) and it looks like the previous version I used. The tab can be reloaded in IE Mode, however, it is not starting out in IE Mode.

I'm looking for this option to be set automatically so people don't have to worry about toggling that button.

With the latest version of the script (1.1.2) the pages should be adding successfully via the script. Please confirm.

I added https://internal.good2go.com/is/root/ via the script and then started up Edge and tried that page. It opened up in IE Mode for me. However, that page redirected me to https://internal.good2go.com/is/root/logon/index.cfm. It's still stayed in IE Mode, but did not show that toggle switch on because that specific page is not in the IE Mode list. As long as you see the IE icon to the left of the URL, that switch can be ignored.

If you like, you can add multiple pages from one site to the IE Mode list, although, usually you only have to add the parent URL. But, try adding all three of these pages:

https://internal.good2go.com/is/root/logon/index.cfm

Edit: In my testing you only need to add "https://internal.good2go.com/" and all pages that open under that will be in IE Mode (IE icon will be shown to the left of the address bar). That IE Mode slider switch will be off for all child pages because that only indicates that the specific page is in the IE Mode list. It's admittedly a bit of a confusing interface.

Well, that was predictably annoying. I decided to video capture the IE mode not loading automatically and well... now it does. I did take two video captures that I can share with you, in one it shows that the script is not adding new URLs to the list. For me this is not a big deal.

The second is my attempt to show that Edge was not switching to IE Mode on its own for pages added to the list. Even though it is working, I'll include it for completeness. If it happens again (and I can actually reproduce it this time), I will let you know. Thanks!

Oh one question, I saw earlier in this thread some people suggested using Enterprise Mode for AD users. Is this still able to be used after the Edge update is installed? The warnings on the Microsoft sites describing how to setup Enterprise Mode seem to suggest that it may not work anymore.

Nothing new there. That's the standard statement that has been misunderstood/misinterpreted a million times over on the Internet. It just means that you can no longer set IE as your default browser and running iexplore.exe in the usual ways (such as double-clicking) will redirect you to Edge. The fact is, IE remains installed in order to provide IE Mode. That's how IE Mode works. It runs IE in the background. You will see iexplore.exe in the task list when you have a page open in IE Mode. If you kill that task, you will kill the page. This has nothing to do with Enterprise Mode. If you have computers in Active Directory, you can use Enterprise Mode to set up a centralized list of URLs that open in IE Mode.

The instructions in the script state: "To add pages, copy, uncomment and edit the AddPages line below"

You went way below that and edited the aAddPages array variable which was not commented out (that should have been a clue). Please download a fresh copy and edit the commented out AddPages variable, as per the instructions, and it should work fine.

You definitely only need to add "https://internal.good2go.com/"  to the IE Mode pages list. As long as you see the little IE logo show up to the left of the URL, you're good, as I explained in my previous message.

I still have some old shortcuts for opening specific sites in IE that were made by dragging the icon of the site that appears to the left of the URL in IE's address bar to the desktop. They all still work as intended, but I suppose it is only a matter of time before that loophole is closed off.
