CO-Release Build 21370 is out to Dev Channel

Ok, since I rolled back to the previous build, I haven't had an issue with Open Shell. But I can do a full uninstall of it and then update/install to the current Win 10 Dev version that would be posted later this week. But is it OK to keep the Quick Launch Icons bar in on the Taskbar (carried over from Win 7).

The hiccup you received using Open Shell should of been expected running any 3rd party program that ties into the OS especially with Dev Channel. With new code changes introduced at any time, few developers keep up with the code change. What version do you have, as spotted Open-Shell (Classic-Start) v4.4.165 but no changelog if this update would correct your issue.

Contrary to one poster's continuous personal MS fanboy opinions of not needed with Win10, or mucking around in the registry is not recommended or use of 3rd party programs (by whom) been tweaking windows since v1.0 some 35 years ago, Dos prior to that. In the technology program in college, mid 80's, we were taught how to alter some characteristics of windows, to change behavior prior to the registry, nearly 10 years later.

If one is happy with Win10 the way it is, great, their right. Just as it is your right to make it what you want. Have some fun. Just be aware any changes you make could possibly be one step towards a clean install or image recovery, more so when editing the complex registry. There is some great code that comes out of github.

Windows can be an adventure, not a humdrum existence out of box. Ensure you have important stuff backed up off system with a means to recover. Make it your own. Suggest testing in virtual machines first prior to making any commitment, a simple reboot to snapshot, back in business. In over 35 years, only twice did I mess up that required a recovery, not bad odds for doing what I personally happen to enjoy. It's not for everyone.

Be yourself. Some will never understand this fact. What works for one, does not necessarily work for others. We all have our own preferences, be it by whatever means.

Just finished installing on my fastest PC. Very disappointing with this install, as it took an awful long time to install.

Download and install went without a hitch. It was after pressing to restart, that all went at snails pace.

Took almost 10 minutes to the first restart, hanging at 0%, then 18%, before the first restart.

Again, this was very slow, requiring another 2 restarts before desktop.

Fail to understand as to why some have just the one restart, then the next 3 restarts

Search still crashing for me on 21370.
