Sys Tray icon discussion on 22572 +

I have not had the SHI there whilst empty; has had something in it. If it IS there and I move things from it to the tray, it disappears.

I have it in the FBH to the Microsoft Engineers all I can do at this point.

Won't let me move my system tray icons where I want anymore.

Other than that, installed fine on both laptops.

I never knew the Sys Tray icons (Time/Date, Volume etc.) could be moved.

I think he was referring to move the icons around in the system tray.

All the icons on the right of the taskbar in settings are now called "Other system tray icons" not just Time/Date and the 3 on the far right that are bundled together and cannot be moved.

(Network,Volume,Battery).

All the other ones can be shuffled around in the tray.

These are referred to as "overflow".

Settings > Personalization > Taskbar

This answer on the FBH is sure going to make users unhappy.

A fix for a tablet should not introduce a bug or loss of functionality for the Desktop and Laptop users.

Personally, I don't really care about tablets. 🤐

I already saw this enabled by MS on 3 of my machines, not only it screws up the taskbar, it also breaks the

Win + Shift + S which stops working when Win + X is open.
