25290 Background Windows Spotlight

Hi Sibro,

On my clean install there was only the old-style menu for Windows spotlight.

I only get the one you show if I choose to enable it myself manually with no variant.

I have never seen that one enabled by MS on any of my Dev builds, including a clean install. 🤷‍♂️

Old menu:

All my Dev Builds only got this variant for the new Windows Spotlight interface. 🤷‍♂️

The only problem I have is that the pictures change way too frequently.

A new set of 4 every 15 minutes if I'm connected to the internet. 🤣🤣😝

On a clean install of 25295 they enabled the worst possible variant. 😒

If you want to discuss the commands, I guess we could do that in the other forum, given that here it is a tabu that gets deleted. 🤣🤣

Thanks but I'm burnt out about this. Besides, the VM is working just fine and has the best variant for my taste (see first VM animation) updated from 25284 to 25290 and still working.

Thanks for checking and for all the info you provide me with.

Unfortunately, I couldn't enable/disable Spotlight variants without getting a black screen from which there's no recovery, and I got tired of restoring backups just to keep trying.

I don't have your patience so I'm just gonna stick to Beta and run Dev on a VM until they fix all these bugs.
