I see it now, it is magically back on page 2, It disappeared last night when I checked. Another mystery. 🤷‍♂️

MS started to play the game again with Build 23451.

They are back with the ridiculous obnoxious variants.

Improving Windows Spotlight

Starting with this build, we are trying out two different treatments for how Windows Spotlight looks. Both treatments will continue to share existing core Windows Spotlight features such as hovering over the icon on the desktop, right-clicking on the icon on the desktop, and double-clicking on the icon on the desktop. One treatment will include a richer UI, full screen, and minimized experience. Both treatments will include 4K portrait images and the ability to learn more about each desktop image. Insiders in the Dev Channel will see different treatments across their PCs so not everyone will see the same thing and the treatments will be shown in English only.

Here what the spotlight icon looked like right after the update and before it populated with the proper icon. 🤣🤣🤣🤷‍♂️

Same situation repeated when I did another Upgrade from 25300 to 25309.

Just make sure you don't delete that empty icon.

Switching from spotlight to picture and back populates that empty shortcut and the Learn about this picture icon.

then it populated after checking for Windows updates and the Store for updates. 🤷‍♂️

I had to do an Update with ISO offline, to get over a GSOD for FAULTMGR.sys.

It reshuffled all the icons on the desktop including the one for the spotlight that became a blank (Create shortcut) then I checked the Store for updates and the icon filled up with the old menu, the spotlight is now working correctly.

They need to fix this Desktop bug that changes the size of the icon to Medium and makes a mess of the desktop.

Waste of time to rearrange everything the way I want them. 🤬🤬
