Ni-Release Build 22593 is out to Dev & Beta Channels

I have read all the recent entries from you. Another person has had some questions for you and I have one...

Whether you are using Beta or Dev doesn't matter; I saw you are using Beta. My question is... How are you running your Insider Build... is it one of the 3 following ways?

1. As a virtual machine?
2. In a dual-boot scenario?
3. On a "Spare Box"?

I may say more once you have answered.

It's a regular OS installation, albeit on a laptop I just bought. It came preinstalled with Windows 10. What I did was upgrade it to 11, then the Beta build which is what I have on my desktop PC as well (with no such popup issues).

Yes, I had a hunch, it sounded/felt like that, although, I wasn't aware you had 2 machines both running IBs.

One should never convert their "Production machine" to an IB or in your case both of one's machines. IF a person does, indeed, have more than one, then to route is #3... one is deemed a "Spare Box". It runs an IB whilst the other does not.

As stated in my previous note, there are (only) 3 ways to run (read: test) IBs.

Would be wrong me not to mention the above info.

While I do understand the risks that come with running IBs, I do it because I found the current stable build to be lacking in features. The Beta is generally speaking very reliable and a vast improvement.

In normal circumstances I would agree with Drew that these Insider builds should only be run in virtual, dual-boot or spare devices. Most definitely with Developer builds. However I tend to agree with you as current Beta is probably just as stable as current Release which itself is prone to problems.

In saying this, it generally takes an OS change as huge as this one a couple of years to mature. Many corporations may wait several years prior to making the change to a new OS variant. Not sure how many times I have considered going back to W10 on my main desktop due to lacking features that MS removed in changing this and that.

I might also consider putting Beta, soon RP on my main system shortly simply because of the fixes to the Start Menu. I just don't want a watermark on my working computer. We should see that removed soon enough. There are too many concerns with Beta at the moment.
