Hi Ck, Dell #2 finished in 1 1/2 hours about the same as usual for this HDD, In using Dell #1 I find that I really like the spacing in File Explorer. It is so much better for these Senior eyes to differentiate the categories. It is not wasted space.  

I'm probably older than you and I hate it.

It should not be the default !  😜

75 & there is a simple fix in File Explorer Settings though. Those who use the Public builds might not even notice the difference. Hence the option.

Edit: I have increased sizing on my devices which really helps. Also in Settings.

Exactly, that is why it should not be the default, if you like the double space you should change the settings not everybody else just for the few that may like it.

Okay, point taken. These features may not even make it to a public build anyway even though we are testing them.

This new default view of File Explorer is awful disaster. Compact mode should be default.

File it in Feedback and I'll upvote, especially 

if it changes every build.

Let me just add my 2 cents worth.  I'm 82 and I don't like it!  I don't like their making it the default and burring it deeply in the View Options.  But I've turned it off and hope they don't turn it back on in the next build.
