Announcing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22000.160 | Windows Insider Blog

ISOs now available

Today we are releasing the ISOs for Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22000.132 to our Windows Insider Preview Downloads page. You can use these ISOs to do a clean installation or in-place upgrade.

As you use these ISOs to install Windows 11, you will go through the new Windows 11 setup experience (often referred to as the “out of box experience” or OOBE for short) which is designed to build excitement for Windows 11 right from the moment you turn on a new Windows 11 PC for the very first time. Based on your feedback, we have added the ability to name your PC during the setup experience too. After running through the setup experience, the Get Started app is a new first run experience app that will help you quickly get setup on a new PC. Try these things out and let us know what you think!

Create a Windows 11 USB Flash drive - Your Windows Guide

  1. Go to https://aka.ms/WIPISO
  2. Select Windows 11 Build 22000.132.
  3. Select the desired language of the Installation Media.
  4. Click 64-bit download to start the download.

    We are excited to release the first Windows 11 Insider Preview build to the Dev Channel, Build 22000.51!  As we finalize the product over the coming months, we will work with you to validate the experience. You will get to try many, but not all, of the new features we showed last week in this early preview. We will bring more features such as Chat with Microsoft Teams and Android apps in the Microsoft Store over the coming months as they are ready for you – we are just getting started on this journey together!

    No doubt MS will release ISOs of W11 in the near future but Adguard and UUPdump sites provide ready made unofficial ISOs you can try right now.

    On the Windows Insider page I can only see W10 ISO's. MS need to release W11 ISO as well. Two very important reasons for this is;

    • There are unofficial ISO's in the wild, and these can be used to infect users computers with malware.
    • After upgrading to W11 the computer was bricked in that the drives became unavailable to the OS after update. Most likely caused by W11 not keeping the RAID (Asus X570 Prime) drivers. So to be able to install Widows 11 I need to load the drivers during initial setup, and having bricked my install having to revert back to W10 is anoying. Also, having the ISO I could actually test if the RAID drivers would work at all, and give feeback to MS. If not, this could easely happen again later.

    Please find below my comments to your queries.

    Everyone has to be very cautious when resorting to such out-of-the-norm practices.

    As you are well aware such preview OSes must not be installed on critical mission PCs.

    There are still many months - I believe - for the public Windows 11 to be released. First WU upgrade routines are being tested, I guess. So you will have time to test your raid drivers in the coming weeks, I guess. The manufacturers must have time to test their drivers, too, I guess.

    All I want to say, unofficially, is, this Windows 11 preview is the first that is released to insiders. When the first bugs, rough edges are ironed out, there is a high probability that the first preview ISO will be released to insider community.
