Steam client broken after updating to Windows Tech Preview Build 9879

It would appear that the latest build of the windows technical preview has caused some serious stability issues for Steam users.

As we all know, this is a big reason why many people use Windows for their desktop PC. To stably play games =)

I ask that the Microsoft  OS engineers please try to track down whatever changes they've introduced with this latest build so that we can once again  have the ability to use Steam.

Symptoms: While playing games via steam ( including the two most widely played steam games, Dota2 and CS:GO ) the steam client will randomly crash. The process will completely die and there will be no trace left in the steam client application logs. As a result of steam dying your game will almost instantly end as well. This issue is present in both Steam and steam beta clients.

I hope there is a solution here. Granted this is a free technical preview, but for me it just became a lot less useful.

    Managed to play a full game of COD AW with the steam client service disabled...  And that was multi-player

    Well steamservice.exe is causing The crash, and any game that does not rely on that process can be played without crashes after you disable/delete steamservice.exe. I know for a fact that VAC uses it, thats why you cant delete og disable it for games that uses VAC. Other games _might_ work, especially singleplayer games. Non-VAC games crashes without steamservice as well, I know, but not all.

    so if you play some obscure singleplayer game on steam, disabling or deleting steamservicr.exe _might_ fix Your problem. I play CSS/CSGO so I dual boot win 8.1 for now :)

    and no, its not The bootstrapper, its first steamservice.exe that crashes, then bootstrapper(steam.exe) and then Your game.
