Steam client broken after updating to Windows Tech Preview Build 9879

It would appear that the latest build of the windows technical preview has caused some serious stability issues for Steam users.

As we all know, this is a big reason why many people use Windows for their desktop PC. To stably play games =)

I ask that the Microsoft  OS engineers please try to track down whatever changes they've introduced with this latest build so that we can once again  have the ability to use Steam.

Symptoms: While playing games via steam ( including the two most widely played steam games, Dota2 and CS:GO ) the steam client will randomly crash. The process will completely die and there will be no trace left in the steam client application logs. As a result of steam dying your game will almost instantly end as well. This issue is present in both Steam and steam beta clients.

I hope there is a solution here. Granted this is a free technical preview, but for me it just became a lot less useful.

    another thing i noticed:

    WER-Diagnostics:

    Possible heap corruption detected (exception code 3221225477). Initiating further diagnostics.

    Try reverting back to Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 9841. Steam works fine with it. Just re update your TP when Microsoft or Steam fixed the issue.

    Doubt that since I've been running without defender and still have the problem.  All these people that randomly think it/they fix it just aren't understanding how random it is.  I can go days without a steamservice crash and then just like now I've had 4 in a 1 hour gaming session.   Same bex crash others have experienced.

    It isn't all that random for me. It happens every single time I play a VAC enabled game, generally within 20 minutes. It does not crash if you are playing games that are not VAC enabled. It is still an issue in 9926.

    have observed this as well. only crashes when im playing tf2, not other games like Batman
