    Hi Johnny,

How did it work out with the clean install of Win 11 ?

As I described in my earlier reply,

I managed to get my old MSI GT70-0NC (Legacy BIOS) up and running with 220011.51 and enrolled in Development Channel starting from scratch.

    On another subject:

Is there a new version of 7-zip that works with the context menu of windows 11 explorer ?

The old one does not seem to work anymore.

    Edit:

Looks like 7-zip is in "more options" context menu. Just another new variation of windows 11 😉

These new win 11 context menus are horrible, instead of spelling Cut or Paste or Rename they show these meaningless icons that create more confusion. Is this new system made for illiterate users that cannot read ?

    More Options:

I took a chance with my ASRock Z68 Motherboard and Intel 3770K CPU and installed Windows 11. Everything went smoothly, no errors or issues (don't have Secure Boot, TPP/TPM, Boot Legacy MBR).

I used the registry hack (shown in a YouTube video) to make the taskbar and it's icons smaller. But there's one thing I can't figure out. Is there a way for open apps to show the Full Program Name in bottom taskbar (like I've always had it) instead of just the Icon with no name (currently in Win 11)?

    Hi.

    Do you mean this ?

    No, like this.

It looks like you can't get rid of the icon taskbar grouping in Win 11 like you could with all past versions.

They usually come through WU first thing in

    the AM after startup.

But usually during the day if you checked manually

you could see 3 or 4 a day.

But strangely Def updates are not coming in through WU

like they used to when you checked.

    Hi C.K.

I think they will come through W.U. too, just wait for the next defender update.

The last one through W.U was 1.341.1630.0

There was only one 1.343.25.0 so far, so I think you will see the next one with W.U.
