    Assorted thoughts maybe worth sharing

This is a FYI about new Store vs legacy Store:

Legacy Store certainly does update apps. But at its top-left it has Downloads & Updates and that can be checked & done, if anything pending, anytime, manually. This IS NOT in the new Store. BUT...

New Store, in its Settings it has a toggle, on by default, for "Update Apps Automatically". Set it & forget it.

BTW, even with the new Start (menu), I am, still, using the Applications window and with VERY good reason. I never did use Start, but never mind that, this is why I, still, use & recommend it, even with 11. Thank god new Start has no live tiles. It does have icons & one can have the ones THEY want and one could possibly have just a few or quite a few or even none. Then there is "All apps" and clicked it gives the contextual alphabetical list, same as 21H1. Ergo, the Apps window, STILL, allows seeing ALL apps without searching a list, fewer clicks nothing in folders and ALL apps can be seen at once. STILL worth using!

Win10 has News & Interests. Edge has its Web Widget with Dev & Canary, GA soon. We know I lean more towards the Widget than N&I. AND NOW, Win11 does NOT have News & Interests, BUT it does have ITS OWN Widget(s) with a default icon on the taskbar. No, can't size it or move it around the screen & drop it where you want, BUT it is, still, the best of the 3. Why? It's big, bright & brilliant❗

Easy to pick & chose want YOU want. It's feeds go on forever (the others show a few, only). It has search & URL box. You can ADD Widgets❗ They can be sized & arranged. Wish I could show stuff 😣 The Edge Widget IS nice, but this nudges it.

Speaking of the Widget, it's alright that after opening via its icon on the taskbar, can be rid of it by clicking anywhere on the screen.

Another worth mentioning is Settings. Settings: the whole section. It is bloody-well impressive❗ The consistency throughout, the logic, clear, easy to find/understand, looks good really, nice to use❗👍👍

One thing worth mentioning that I think is damn cool is Snap in Win11. Rt Clk Maximise button and you are offered Snap choices, various layouts. IF you have stuff snapped & leave, close it or even shut off or reboot, can come back with all you had AS IT WAS SNAPPED and arranged, BEFORE. 11 is very adept at NOT messing up your 'flow' & making it VERY easy to get back where you were & continue.

And Voice Typing is a cool advancement over Dictation.

There is/was nothing in mine of 22000.1, just only, .51

    Cheers,

I have also seen references to 22000.1 after running SFC / Scannow and viewing the CBS Log .

Perhaps someone can explain why that number appears in the log.

Win11 is based on 22000.1 with a CU kb5004564 taking build to .51. Unless there is going to be a significant change, we should only see CU's, possibly Feature Experience Packs from here on.

Similar to 19043.1082 being based on 19041.1 with CU and Enablement.

    Regards,

    @vienna10, @Johnny_55,

    Hi,

You may be interest to see how I corrected the Widgets blank translucid screen on the 2 machines that exhibited the problem.

See my edited post in page 45.

The problem is related to some specific Graphics drivers, as other users already reported in FBH.
