Created an ISO from the first PC updated, which resulted in build version 22000.1.210604-1628.
This was used to install on another non compatible PC, where I had to rename appraiserres.dll to be able to install.
All went well, until the system was to install the cumulative update KB5004564. It downloads and installs the update, but fails on reboot with error: Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800F0823
Any ideas?
Maybe you hit the problem with windows defender going from 1.341.xxx to 1.343.xxx.
Try updating defender directly and once you get over that 1st error the next W.U. should work.
I did the same procedure as yours yesterday and everything worked fine and got to 22000.51.
I just finished another update a few minutes ago on a Legacy BIOS MSI Laptop and I'm up all the way.
Or could be this:
Windows 10 DISM Servicing Stack Error 0x800f0823 - Microsoft Q&A
Thanks for the reply. Had just retried the update and it finally installed successfully. Will take note when updating the others to .51
