Windows 11 kicked me out of WIP on Windows 11.

I know a guy who has one which he has three monitors and printer sitting on one and was very stable, it had adjustable feet to level the table, and can raise high for standing purposes, I could find out the make next week if you interested.

1. How to activate the VM install ? Do I need a new Windows 10/8/7 product key ? I had a HP notebook. It had a product key on the sticker. Can I use that ? The notebook has no longer the pre-installed Windows build on it. Not used.
2. Can I use my Microsoft account info here in VM as well ?

As you are aware, each vm is similar to a new computer, each one requires its own activation. As Sibro mentioned, give it a go. Suspect the HP key might not work as its OEM, but worth a try.

I used the HP notebook Windows 7 Pro PK. It was not the OEM PK but was the PK on a sticker. At first attempt, the PK was not accepted but later when I checked activation status, I found out that my VM had been activated.

How should I keep the activation status if I reinstall Windows 11 in a VM ?

Not sure about the HP product key, probably not due to mismatch hardware, wouldn't hurt to try.

I'm 100% sure you can still use a Windows 7 key and upgrade straight to Windows 11 on a VM or a PC.

Sure, that would be great. My Facebook wall is crawling with desk ads now. Got to love MicroSpy. Seems all lift desks are made in China. Thinking around a 55-60" width and about 200lb capacity.

Found a great one, problem it is a Kickstarter project, so who knows when that would ever show up. It too is overseas. First one come across with built in wireless phone charger, some electrical outlets as well as USB plugs. Had dual motors and legs had 3 sections rather than the normal 2.

Please. could you point Suat to that article Don created regarding saving 3 files to retain activation. I suspect he is using Hyper-V. I use VMware Workstation. I had always retained total copies of my vm's. Anytime I clean installed, I would have to restart from a working copy for Boot Choice menu.

Sibro showed me an alternate method that works. Now only have to figure out other than the vmx file, what else I need to retain to keep activation, instead of the entire vm, well over 10GB.

If you look Hyper-V settings there is two paths. One for virtual disks and another for virtual machines. This last one keep those mystically named files you need to save.

Copy or use Hyper-V export function. (Export is misleading, it just copy selected items to another disk/folder.)
