Windows 11 kicked me out of WIP on Windows 11.

Hi all.

Today I went to Settings > ... > Windows Insider Program page.

There I was asked to restart the PC.

After I restarted, I saw that I was left out of the Windows 11 Insider Program.

Now I am asked to install Windows 10 and then rejoin the Windows Insider Program Release Preview Channel.

So I understand now it is just about time to say good-bye to my Insider Colleages on Windows 11.

    Hi Pauli,

    Thank you for your prompt response.

    I looked into my Hyper-V manager settings.

    1- Enhanced Mode session tickbox is already selected. But I don't have local resources available to me. The icon is grayed out.

    2- There are two items in "Turn on/off Windows Features" window that are not selected.

    a- Virtual Machine Platform

    b- Windows Hyper Manager Platform

    Shall I check them one or both in order to be able to see the Local Resources ?

    To use USB in Hyper-V VM allow Enhanced mode in settings.

    When VM start there is button to toggle between Basic and Enhanced session, this mode allow to use host recources in VM.

    In Hyper-V settings under "User" is also selection to use Enhanced mode automatic, but I don't like that.

    I use that toggle button if I need enhanced mode.

    Hi.

    I tried to use a USB flash disk to transfer some files to VM but Hyper-V VM does not recognize USB drive. When I insert a USB flash disk, host machine comes up front.

    I looked over the internet for the issue. Then I learned an easy way other than using a USB flash disk.

    To make the story short, I created a SCSI disk drive .vhdx in host M/C using Hyper-V Manager. Then I ran VM and created a simple volume, using Disk Management Console in VM.

    Now I mount the disk drive .vhdx in host M/C and copy files on to the drive and unmount it. When I start the Hyper-V VM, I can find the files copied from the host M/C on to the SCSI drive.

    Once I forgot to unmount the SCSI drive in host M/C after copying files, my Hyper-V VM could not start.

    Hope some forum members find this useful.

    My VM host is few years old Dell work station with one SSD for OS and virtual machine files, another SSD only for virtual disks and one HDD for backups.

    To that HDD I take images of OS disk using Macrium Reflect and time to time I export virtual machines including virtual disks also to that HDD.
