Taskbar Widgets keep closing, won't stay open

I downloaded the full Win 11 ISO today from Microsoft and installed it on my desktop PC (over Win 10 Pro). I had been using my laptop for the Insider Preview Beta. Everything works OK on the Desktop PC install except the Widgets. When I click on the Widgets icon, it flys open and then closes right away. Rebooted a few times, removed and added Widgets from the Taskbar, but it still closes right away.

    I just installed the Win 11 (258) and still have the same problem with Widgets not opening.

    I checked and do that the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime version 94.0.992.50 installed.

    I tried the "Modify" where it downloads and installs it again, but Widgets still wont open.

    I looked at Task Manager and there is no listing for Widgets.exe running.

    In the other Widgets thread, someone posted the following:

    "Uninstalling "Windows Web Experience Pack" using Powershell and reinstalling it from the Microsoft store fixed the issue for me:

    1. Open PowerShell as admin
    2. Type the following command and hit enter: winget uninstall "windows web experience pack"
    3. Type "Y" when prompted
    4. Reinstall the pack by grabbing it from the Microsoft Store: https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9MSSGKG348SP
    5. Go to taskbar settings, the Widgets switch should be there, disable it and enable it again
    6. That's it! Widgets icon should appear in your taskbar."

    I followed this, but going to Step 4, it will not allow the download from the Microsoft Store. So now I have no way to installed the Widgets.

    See if the Administratifve command prompts can fix it;

    sfc /scannow

    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    The DISM one did actually fix another issue of mine concerning Task Manager so maybe it's worth a try here.

    The SFC said it found no issues. I ran the DISM. But still have the problem.

    The SFC said it found no issues. I ran the DISM. But still have the problem.

    Ok, I will see tonight if I can get it to install.

    Otherwise I can reinstall this build 258, or the new beta build 282 over this one.

    Or do the roll back to Win 10 19043 and install the new Beta build 282 from there.
