Taskbar Widgets keep closing, won't stay open

I downloaded the full Win 11 ISO today from Microsoft and installed it on my desktop PC (over Win 10 Pro). I had been using my laptop for the Insider Preview Beta. Everything works OK on the Desktop PC install except the Widgets. When I click on the Widgets icon, it flys open and then closes right away. Rebooted a few times, removed and added Widgets from the Taskbar, but it still closes right away.

    I could do a Win 11 clean install on another drive, and see if the Widgets work. But that would just verify it's it a hardware issue. Not really fix the problem or tell me why the Widgets are broke when updating from Win 10 with all current drivers. I even tried older Nvidia driver from a few months ago just to see if maybe the video driver was the problem, and the Widgets we're still broke.

    It would sure help isolating or narrowing down the cause of your problem. Up to you.

    The only problems I had with Widgets were caused by Intel display drivers, in 2 different older machines, no problems with Nvidia, other than that it always worked fine for me on Updates from windows 10 to windows 11 or new installs of windows 11.

    I have 4 machines running Widgets without any issues.

    Ok still can't figure out why the Widgets worked on all the beta build (before RTM release), but it has issues with the RTM and future builds.

    Each time I want to try a new build, I roll back to Win 10 and then install it as an upgrade.

    Save an image backup of windows 10 and then try a clean install of windows 11 either Public Build or Development to see if that works.

    I had read there was a Widget Fix in the Dev build 22478, so was going to try that next. But your saying the Task ,Manager has an issue and needs a work around?

    The Task Manager problem does not affect all the machines, but if you get the problem the workaround is quite simple.

    Just disable this settings in Accounts -> Sign-In Options and reboot, and Task Manager will work fine.
