So at this point I've cloned my Desktop PC Win 7 SSD to the primary Samsung SSD (that had Win 10 Dev). Now I'm going to download and upgrade from Win7 to Win 10 but should I go with 19043.x or 19044.x? On my laptop it has 19043.1319 newest build.
Taskbar Widgets keep closing, won't stay open

I downloaded the full Win 11 ISO today from Microsoft and installed it on my desktop PC (over Win 10 Pro). I had been using my laptop for the Insider Preview Beta. Everything works OK on the Desktop PC install except the Widgets. When I click on the Widgets icon, it flys open and then closes right away. Rebooted a few times, removed and added Widgets from the Taskbar, but it still closes right away.

2021-10-21T03:07:09+00:00 At this point I'm just going to clone my Win 7 drive back and install the latest 19043 (or 19044?) Build on it to get it back to a normal working state. My Win 10 is the last Dev build and is expiring on 10/31.

So doing a clone from my Win 7 SSD (that I was using up until last year) and going from there to Win 10 to 11, or 11 directly, I'd like to try first.
Be aware that some if not most of those programs that work on Windows 7 may not work on Windows 11.
I found out the hard way. I now keep all my W7 programs on a dedicated old x86 laptop

2021-10-21T02:46:16+00:00 Yes, on my MS Acy page I have 2 different email addresses, cell phone and Authenticate app listed. But see on the PC when I go to the Sync screen and click on the Verify link, nothing opens up.
Just another confirmation that windows in that machine is screwed up.
By now you could have tried quite a few clean installs to verify what is different. 😉
The verify is in Settings -> Accounts -> Your Info...
