I’ve researched this for a long time. There is no way to get out of it without a complete reinstall. Or if you have a recovery image on an external drive you can boot up with it and recover your OS. Either way, it’s a complete reinstall.
You can try to monkey with the registry but I wouldn’t go that route. Unless you are an advanced user and have time and patience.
I do realize that a complete reinstall is the only way to get out of WI.
However, someone - not anyone on this site - suggested that the "Windows Insider" setting in "Services" be changed to "Disabled."
Would that prevent WI updates from installing? Also, would it have a negative effect on the operating system or the operation of the computer? I thought I'd ask to verify if that suggestion is worthwhile or could it cause problems. Any opinions?
