Can't leave windows insider program!

Since you are already with 22621.2338, just delete the registry key showing here.

You can also uninstall KB5030305 to go back to 22621.2271 and then use windows update to get up to latest public Build 22621.2283.

I’ve researched this for a long time. There is no way to get out of it without a complete reinstall. Or if you have a recovery image on an external drive you can boot up with it and recover your OS. Either way, it’s a complete reinstall.

You can try to monkey with the registry but I wouldn’t go that route. Unless you are an advanced user and have time and patience.

I do realize that a complete reinstall is the only way to get out of WI.

However, someone - not anyone on this site - suggested that the "Windows Insider" setting in "Services" be changed to "Disabled."

Would that prevent WI updates from installing? Also, would it have a negative effect on the operating system or the operation of the computer? I thought I'd ask to verify if that suggestion is worthwhile or could it cause problems. Any opinions?

It has been explained many times that if you have Canary or Dev the only way out is a clean reinstall.

That is not the case when you are in Beta or Release Preview.

You just have to follow the instructions that have been given several times for those 2 specific cases of Beta and R.P.

You may have one or more Beta enablement packages depending on when your machine was enrolled in Beta:

That's apply only for Dev and Canaey channel builds. If user have Beta channel build it's possible to leave insider program and go back ti stable Windows 11 version without clean install.

If user have Beta build 22631.xxxx it may be possible to uninstall Beta channel Enablment package and go back to build 22621.xxxx. Now deleting that mentioned key will kick device out of getting previews.

If user is in Beta build 22621.xxxx or 22631.xxxx it's also possible to delete that mentioned key and do repair installation using latest official ISO build 22621.1702 This will let you keep data and installed apps and install that build 22621.1702. Then you can use Windows Update to get latest C.U. for Widows 11 22H2. (I test that yesterday with build 22631.2338.)
