Hi,
I cannot leave the windows insider program. I've tried all emails that I've ever signed into on my computer, and all of them just say "This email address is not registered as a windows insider". I only pressed the join button to the windows insider program to see what it would do, I didn't sign up with an email or anything. It won't let me out. I would really like to get out because it's restricting my updates! I need help, please.

You are in the Dev Channel.

If you want out of the Dev Channel the only way out is

    to do a clean install.

Please back up all important files, etc. first.

    Hi Luke

Open Settings and go to Windows Updates > Windows Insider Program and click on Insider Settings.

    Send a screenshot of that.

If that screen is blank, tell me which channel you are in (Dev or Beta).

Then, press Windows+R and type winver. Press enter.

Send a screenshot of the window that appears.

While taking the screenshot, make sure you do not capture any personal info like phone numbers, email, IDs, etc.

    Regards,

    Here's the detail

Is there at least some way to let it update to the next stable build and then opt out of Dev builds? I don't want to do a clean install, I just want to stop getting prerelease builds.

All the options are greyed out except for staying on Dev releases or doing a clean install.

Right now there is nothing to share on if, or when, there will be another opportunity to move from Dev to Beta, which would eventually let you opt out at the next retail release. If it were soon, the Beta Channel build would need to come up to a build aligned with Dev. You would still be on preview builds until late next year, most likely.

If you want out sooner, you will need to perform a clean install. There is no other option at this time.

    No there isn't.

Dev Channel is a continuing channel.

As stated by Eddie your only way out of Dev

is to do a clean install.

You are in the Dev channel. You must perform a clean install to leave the Insider program.
