What about every time ? It is definitely broken.

Do you see also the long delay to the UAC screen when you try to open a command prompt as administrator ?

I fixed the UAC delay and the task manager issue by deactivating the following setting:

Settings -> Accounts -> Sign-In options -> "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up after an update"

>> Don't forget to restart your computer afterwards.

So this setting seems for me the root cause of both issues.

Thanks, interesting, that change indeed eliminates the problem, but that setting should not cause this issue, it is still a bug that needs to be fixed by MS.

That setting was the same before last build and it was working fine.

Why did it start failing just with 22478 ?

To get USB, local drives or some other host devices to be available in Hyper-V VM you have to enable Enhanced mode"

• Setting in step 4 enable Enhanced mode and then you can turn it on by clicking Enhanced mode button.
• Setting in step 6 make Enhanced mode as Default.

Thanks, sincerely. I know one should be able to have USBs recognised. And way back when (long ago), I remember I could. But, sadly, for the longest time I can't and lord knows I have often looked very hard to find it, again, to no avail.

Maybe, I will sort it after I have my Win11 machine going. Or maybe it's when a new vm is created. But the windows you show are not familiar to me. All the while, seems something I expect can't be found. I can capture DVDs, but haven't managed to see anything for USBs for a long, long time.
