Why was the tablet-optimised taskbar removed in 22623.1325?

The tablet-optimized taskbar has been working perfectly well for months, & suddenly it's been removed without warning. The blog post about the update doesn't say anything. Just something about how there was a fix for an issue causing the taskbar to be cut off after resolution changes.

Does anyone know why a perfectly useful feature was removed?

For no obvious reason, certainly nothing I have changed, my Lenovo Yoga that had suffered from the missing Tablet Optimized Taskbar now has it back today.

Confirmed, I have the option again in Taskbar settings and also the actual collapsed taskbar when it switches to tablet mode with Build 22624.1537.

Now we have to wait for the same fix to be released to Public build.

Good to have the option to turn it off, many users don't need it or don't want the extra annoyance. 🤣🤷‍♂️

This is a Lenovo YOGA 920-13IKB, fully supported 2-in-1 laptop.

Posted a reply but can't work why as Enterprise OS should crossing over to Pro/Home.

Its a handy feature so I can't think why they would turn it off even on EOS.

I got the option to show up in the settings when I got back to an older Build 22623.1255, with the option in the settings I also got the collapsed taskbar as you can see in the shot below. The 2 things go together as I expected.

The settings option and the collapsed taskbar functionality disappeared as I let W.U. go up to 22624.1470. 🤷‍♂️

All it does after the update, it increases the spacing of the icons in the taskbar when it switches to tablet mode. 🤣🤣🤣🤷‍♂️

This confirms that it is a bug introduced by recent updates, we just have to wait for a fix as stated in the FBH MS reply.

Maybe that will make Jane happy. 😉

I really don't have any use for the collapsed taskbar, still I don't like unjustified inconsistent behavior among machines that are supposed to behave the same way. It is confirmed that only some machines lost this functionality with the recent updates. 😜 🤷‍♂️

There is a new Beta 22624.1537 out today too.

What about the settings, is the option there?
