Why was the tablet-optimised taskbar removed in 22623.1325?

The tablet-optimized taskbar has been working perfectly well for months, & suddenly it's been removed without warning. The blog post about the update doesn't say anything. Just something about how there was a fix for an issue causing the taskbar to be cut off after resolution changes.

Does anyone know why a perfectly useful feature was removed?

For no obvious reason, certainly nothing I have changed, my Lenovo Yoga that had suffered from the missing Tablet Optimized Taskbar now has it back today.

Hi Bree,

Confirmed, I have the option again in Taskbar settings and also the actual collapsed taskbar when it switches to tablet mode with Build 22624.1537.

Now we have to wait for the same fix to be released to Public build.

Good to have the option to turn it off, many users don't need it or don't want the extra annoyance. 🤣🤷‍♂️

This is a Lenovo YOGA 920-13IKB, fully supported 2-in-1 laptop.

    Does your taskbar still automatically minimise when running a program in tablet mode though?

    Hi JaneJayne,

    MS has removed the manual switch between the two settings, my SP7 which is the same build as your, automatically changes when removing the keyboard to slightly bigger icons and spreads them out further.

    If your computer fails to do this, you can only post at the FBH and /or wait for a fix.

    I have a Lenovo Yoga 920 laptop that have dual use, I cannot detach the keyboard, but it does the same when I flip the keyboard under and use it as a tablet with the touch screen.

    The spacing of the Icons in the Taskbar increases in tablet mode automatically and shrinks back when I move the keyboard back in normal position. 😎🤷‍♂️
