A New Issue - Still - with Optimise Drives post Windows 11 Pro Build(22000.527 and up)

Build(22000.346) now shows USB Flash Drives / Cards - as previous report to FBH Ref https://aka.ms/AAe9dct.

However, another issue appears to have been created referring to DVD (?) drive(s).

DVD drives have NEVER been reported on in all the years I've been using Windows 2000/10/11.

    Upvoted. Been seeing this for well over a month or so on Beta and Dev builds. Never mentioned this prior as this is happening on non-compliant VMware and non-compliant laptops.

    The bug started with Build 22000.346, it works fine with 22000.318.

    I just uninstalled latest CU kb5007262, reverted back to 22000.318 and the problem went away.

    Different story with Dev Build that shows the same problem, I don't know when that started with Dev Builds, but for Win 11 21H2 is definitely started with 22000.346 and now 22000.348.

    To fix one problem reported on this FBH https://aka.ms/AAe9dct they introduced a new one ! 😒

    Hi Ian,

    The MS fixes remind me of an old Italian story about having a short blanket.

    Their fixes are like a short blanket.

    When you have a short blanket in the winter, if you shoulders get cold you pull up the blanket, but then your feet get cold. 😂

    Cover a bug and expose a new one, typical MS. 🤢

    Hi Ian,

    Weird, I don't see the bug on this Lenovo 920 Laptop. anymore at build 22000.434, but the problem is still there on my Desktops Dell XPS 8930 and Dell XPS 8940.

    More inconsistent behavior. 🤣

    I got the problem back again, by mounting and ejecting an ISO file.

    Looks like the Eject may not cleanup the virtual CD created by the mount of the ISO.

    Then it cleaned up after a restart on this laptop, but not on the desktops. 🤣
