    I did a clean install of 22518.1000 on a laptop. I did not have Spotlight collection at first, but it populated about 20 minutes later adding 5 pictures to the collection and also the corresponding menu.

    I then clicked "Not a fan of this picture" and it discarded just that one, but kept the other 4 and the menu to switch was still available.

    This one behaved more like I was expecting.

    It did not go back to the default picture and menu. 😊

    I had to click "Not a fan of this picture" for all 5, before it went back to the default picture and menu.

    New problem, this machine had the Spotlight Collection for the background for 2 days.

    When Windows Spotlight changed the picture for the lock screen the background collection disappeared and it went back to the default Whitehaven Beach picture and menu. 🤔

    Edit:

    The same happened on a second Laptop after updating to 22518.1012, the Spotlight collection for the Background picture just disappeared and got the above menu with the default Whitehaven picture. This also had a new Lock screen picture from Windows spotlight, it looks like the pictures are stored in the same place, but it is unclear how the Lock Screen pictures interact with the Background pictures collection.

    Any clue?

    I now have 3 PC's which had the collection at some point, but now it is gone. This new feature seems quite unpredictable. 🤔

    Still no Spotlight Collection on any of my machines on 12/11/2021. It also disappeared on the ones that previously had it.

    Now just the default Whitehaven picture and incomplete right click menu.

    I gave up on Spotlight and went back to Bing Daily Wallpaper which is basically the same as Spotlight anyway.
    Edit: Sometimes Bing Daily Wallpaper is advertised at the top of this forum. Also, Bing has an unlimited supply of pictures.

    I'm just testing the new insider features and reporting the bugs. I know there are other ways to get a picture in the background, but that is not the point, nor the purpose of insider testing. 😎
