As I already said earlier, I could also verify again today that when the update of the Lock Screen picture happened, it screwed up the Spotlight collection. 🤣
This is definitely the bug. Windows spotlight for the Lock screen messes up the Background Spotlight collection every time it makes an update of the Lock screen pictures.
They need a fix to handle both features independently using two separate folders for the assets,
or synchronize the updates so that one does not disrupt the pictures for the other.
You can easily reproduce this bug if you enable both features.
Got the exact same behavior on two machines.
Spotlight collection for the background disappeared again today at the time the Lock screen picture was updated.
New Lock screen pictures updated today:
