Up and running on both PC's.
Sadly, no new Widgets or Spotlight here yet.
Head's up!! If you don't see the new Spotlight
Collection, reboot.

2021-12-24T01:06:41+00:00 After disappearing for 3 days, the Spotlight collection showed up again today, on its own including the Menu to switch to next picture of 5 available in the collection. (See snapshots below).
We'll see how long it will last this time. Same on a second machine with 5 different pictures.
Last time the background settings changed on its own back to Picture. Also, it was resetting to picture after every reboot regardless of how many times I tried to set it to Spotlight collection.
I think the menu should be on a Settings screen, not an extra icon on the desktop.

2021-12-24T01:18:50+00:00 Creating a new user account always brings back the Spotlight collection in a matter of minutes after selecting Background Spotlight, the problem is that it doesn't seem to last.
After a day or two the collection disappears, the default Whitehaven picture pops back up and that seems to be the end of it.
I would expect a new collection to show up when the Windows Spotlight pictures get updated, given that they are saved in the same folder, but it doesn't seem to work that way.
I think MS needs to explain a little better what logic they use to update the Background Spotlight Collection; it doesn't make any sense to get back the default Whitehaven picture on its own without changing any settings. 😂
Nice one from the collection. (When it worked). 😊
Island of Santorini.
This picture is from Bing Daily Wallpaper Collection which has unlimited pictures not just five and I had it a few weeks ago. Merry Christmas! .

Clearly, they are not reinventing the pictures they are all from the same collection, like the Lock screen pictures.
Bing wallpaper lets me pick 8 different pictures instead of 5, but it looks about the same logic.
Finally, after 3 days the Spotlight collection started to work again. We'll see how long it lasts.
Merry Christmas and happy 2022 to you too. 😉
