"What I noticed was that the Spotlight collection pictures for the background were stored in the same location where Windows Spotlight is storing the Lock Screen pictures. When the Windows Spotlight picture were updated for the Lock Screen the Background collection disappeared."
I just find opposed thing happen with those lock screens.
- On weekend I did clean install of 22000.315
- Change Lock/Sign-in screen background setting to Spotlight, but background image stay default blueish picture.
- Update to 22518 -> Lock/Sign-in screen background get new image via Spotlight.
- Turn on that new Spotlight collection.
- Some time later Spotlight collection get first pictures --> Lock/ Sign-in screen background reset to default picture.
I prefer more that changing Lock/Sign-in screen picture so I change desktop background setting back to "Picture".
If I think time in future when this feature is available in public I would like to keep some light colored, neutral, non-changing background so that pinned icons on desktop doesn't get "hide" with colorful, dark background.
When using windows for work there is always some app(s) open covering desktop picture anyway.
Hi, Pauli,
This Spotlight Collection feature is still broken.
I was just looking at a PC right now that had the collection for the last 2 days, it just now disappeared on its own and reloaded the default Whitehaven picture and default menu. It does not make any sense. 😜
