FIX: Insiders not able to switch channels - **UPDATED 8/3/2021**

Hello Windows Insiders!

Windows 11 is now in the Beta Channel, and some of you are wanting to move over from the Dev Channel. We've been getting some reports that some of you are not seeing the options to change in Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program. We have a fix that should get you back on track. Please note, this fix is for devices that are not showing the Choose your Insider Settings and Windows Insider account settings, as in the image below.

If you are seeing this, please follow the steps below to restore the missing options:

  1. If you have Bitlocker enabled, please suspend it.
  2. Click Start
  3. In the search box, type cmd
  4. In the lower right of the search results, under Command Prompt, click Run as Administrator
  5. On the UAC prompt, click OK
  6. At the elevated command prompt, type: bcdedit /set flightsigning on
  7. Press Enter
  8. At the elevated command prompt, type: bcdedit /set {bootmgr} flightsigning on
  9. Press Enter
  10. Reboot the device

You should now see the missing options:

    Hi Eddie,

    Maybe you can assist me as I can't find anyone at Microsoft who can. I have a machine sitting on Windows 10 Pro Dev channel and it is stuck on trying to update to Windows 11 builds - the computer can't run Windows 11 so the update process is in a loop. I am not receiving Windows 10 Pro builds anymore and Microsoft told me I would automatically be moved from the Dev channel to the preview channel (that didn't happen).

    Here is the details of my build:

    Edition Windows 10 Pro

    Version Dev

    Installed on ‎5/‎7/‎2021

    OS build 21376.1

    Experience Windows 10 Feature Experience Pack 321.11803.0.3

    How do I change from Windows 10 Dev channel to the preview or beta channels to receive Windows 10 Pro updates?

    Please let me know if you have an answer or can point me to someone who can assist.

    The only way to change from Dev channel to Beta is

    to clean install.

    Hi 张#·,

    bcdedit /set flightsigning on between the bcdedit and the / is a space so if typing hit the space bar once to add the space, your screen shot looks like it is missing.

    If Eddie has typed it just copy and paste it in to Command Prompt, to paste in right click your mouse or Win + V will also paste it.
