Hello Windows Insiders! Windows 11 is now in the Beta Channel, and some of you are wanting to move over from the Dev Channel. We've been getting some reports that some of you are not seeing the options to change in Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program . We have a fix that should get you back on track. Please note, this fix is for devices that are not showing the Choose your Insider Settings and Windows Insider account settings, as in the image below. If you are seeing this, please follow the steps below to restore the missing options: If you have Bitlocker enabled, please suspend it. Click Start In the search box , type cmd In the lower right of the search results, under Command Prompt , click Run as Administrator On the UAC prompt , click OK At the elevated command prompt, type: bcdedit /set flightsigning on Press Enter At the elevated command prompt, type: bcdedit /set {bootmgr} flightsigning on Press Enter Reboot the device You should now see the missing options: If performing these steps to not resolve your issue, please file a new feedback item in Feedback Hub, so we can investigate. It's the USER ACCOUNT CONTROL . It's the dialogue box that comes up when you open up a program as ADMINSTRATOR . It will ask , " Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device ? " . At the bottom , you can answer with a YES or NO .

There's a problem at the fifst command.

I should add, that having to pause updates means ALL updates including security updates. Time to resolve this so we can follow the advice provided without asking us to monitor security updates, unpause updates, and either ignore builds or roll them back. Ten Forums has an article on this including reg files to change channels. Everything is located in the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost" key under "UI\Selection" and "Applicability keys". Simply change "Dev" to "Beta" and reboot. Yes it really is that easy. As per the emails, they are sent out to all Insiders giving users the opportunity to get out of Dev channel before it becomes the point of no return and moves on to 22xx, rumor has it will be build 225xx rather than 22000. Registry disclaimer: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Please take a backup of the registry. Follow the steps given in the link below: How to back up and restore the registry in Windows Regards, Edit: There is one final option, delete the entire SelfHost key. This will literally remove you from the Insider program and back to the Get Started button in the Insider Page in Settings. You will still get the CU updates till GA, but no Dev Store updates.

Hello Windows Insiders!

Windows 11 is now in the Beta Channel, and some of you are wanting to move over from the Dev Channel.
