    Oh my, I got rid of the Windows Intelligence Update.

    After trying many other things (that didn't work) I

    used the new repair install option in Recovery.

    After it was finished and Windows Update checked

    for updates it now shows as completed.

    Restart bug is fixed, but issue with desktop icons isn't.

    They introduce new items, but don't fix the old ones

    I keep getting the same restart now for a .net update that keeps reinstalling.

    Don't restart until the new build finishes installing, then restart.

    CK, When I run Windows update, I get that "Restart Required" message. In spite of two restarts, I can't get the update. What do I need to do?

    I paused updates and at 10:01 AM resumed updates and Build 25926 was there waiting. The .Net update in there showing Restart required but will wait until the new build finishes to restart.

    CK, When I run Windows update, I get that "Restart Required" message. In spite of two restarts, I can't get the update. What do I need to do?

    OK, I solved it.

    I paused updates, but then couldn't Resume.

    It got rid of the .NET but didn't see the new build.

    So I changed the Date on the PC to 8/17, restarted

    and it then saw the new Build.
